September is Life Insurance Awareness Month

Protect yourself and your loved ones

Did you know that more than 40% of Americans don’t have any form of life insurance? Or that most people think the cost of life insurance is three times more than it actually is?¹

There are a lot of misconceptions about life insurance out there, but it’s one of the most important things you can do to protect yourself and your loved ones. That’s why LifeHappens.org, a nonprofit organization, created Life Insurance Awareness Month (LIAM) back in 2004. The organization’s goal was to help ensure Americans know the importance of including life insurance in their financial plans.

LIAM has grown to become an industry-wide campaign that aims to educate Americans about the value and importance of life insurance every year in September. Currently more than 140 of the nation’s leading insurance companies and financial service organizations, including Horace Mann, have joined in the initiative to bring life insurance education to people across the country.

LifeHappens.org offers a variety of free educational resources, including insurance facts, tips on how to get coverage, a helpful life insurance calculator, articles and real life stories that illuminate the importance of life insurance and just how impactful it can be.

Visit LifeHappens.org to learn more about the importance of life insurance or contact your Horace Mann representative today.
