Teachers in public school districts are eligible to win funding from Horace Mann for their DonorsChoose.org project. To get your project entered into the running:

Set up an account on DonorsChoose.org and post a project.

‘Like’ Horace Mann’s Facebook page.
- Post your project number on “The Classroom Project II” page on Facebook.
Each Wednesday beginning April 4, 2012 – and for the next seven consecutive Wednesdays through May 23, 2012 – DonorsChoose.org will randomly select projects to fund with Horace Mann’s weekly donation of $5,000. (Winners will be announced the following Friday.) Additional drawings will be held May 4 (Horace Mann's birthday) and May 8 (National Teacher Day), with winners announced May 7 and May 10, repsectively.) The money will complete each project’s funding if the remaining balance is less than $500. If the balance is more than $500, the project will receive $500 in funding. Horace Mann will fund at least 10 projects per week.
To be eligible to post a project, teachers who submit projects must work in a school served by a Horace Mann agent and identified as a Horace Mann school on our website. Winners must have an active DonorsChoose.org project at the time of the prize drawing to win. Once a project is submitted, it will remain on the list of entrants until the project is fully funded or until The Horace Mann Classroom Project ends. While a teacher can submit multiple projects, a teacher can only win one prize during the promotion.
Horace Mann reserves any and all applicable rights associated with The Horace Mann Classroom Project II, including, but not limited to, the right to make sole determination and interpretation of eligibility of winners, disbursement of funds and length of promotion. By participating in the promotion, applicants agree to the laws and jurisdiction of Illinois, venue Sangamon County.
