Eligibility
The fellowship is open to all active K-12 teachers and administrators in schools served by a Horace Mann agent. A promotion, Abe Across America, will identify the 2012 Horace Mann - Abraham Lincoln Fellows. Educators who reside in New York, New Jersey, Hawaii, Kentucky or Mississippi are not eligible to apply as Horace Mann is not registered to do business in those states.
Past recipients of the Horace Mann - Abraham Lincoln Fellowship are not eligible to apply again.
Employees or immediate family members (defined as spouses, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, sons and daughters), no matter where they reside, of Horace Mann Service Corporation - or any distributor; representative; agent or affiliate; advertising, marketing or promotion agencies of Horace Mann - and members of their households are not eligible to apply.
Employees or immediate family members (defined as spouses, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, sons and daughters), no matter where they reside, of the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency (IHPA), Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum (ALPLM), and Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation - or any affiliates of these organizations - are not eligible to apply.
Entry period
Entries and voting will be open on the Horace Mann Facebook page at 9 a.m. central time Nov. 1, 2011 and close at 9 a.m. central time Feb. 12, 2012. Winners will be posted March 26, 2012 on our corporate website and our Facebook page. Between Feb. 12, 2012 and March 26, 2012, Horace Mann agents or Horace Mann home office personnel will notify the winners.
Prize
Fifty (50) winners will have the opportunity to take part in the 2012 Horace Mann - Abraham Lincoln Fellowship Program.

Winners must sign a Consent and Release form, consenting to the use of their names and/or photos or likenesses for advertising purposes without additional consultation (except where prohibited) before attending the program. If the form is not received within 15 days of prize notification, Horace Mann has the right to choose an alternative winner.
By accepting the fellowship award, winners release the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum (ALPLM) and Horace Mann Service Corporation and affiliates and agents from any and all liability, harm, damages, cost or expense arising out of participation in this program or the acceptance, use or misuse of the prize.
All federal, state and local laws apply to winners. Taxes, if any, are the sole responsibility of winners.
