Experienced Agents

Briefcase

We understand what it takes to meet the insurance and financial needs of educators and their families. Many of our agents are former educators themselves, having previously served as teachers, administrators and counselors. Some continue to serve their local school districts as members of school boards and parent-teacher organizations.

Strong partnerships with local schools

Not only are agents building relationships through their participation on school boards and committees, they are developing strong partnerships with local school administrators to create new programs and services that benefit educators. This includes developing auto payroll systems that allow educators to take their auto insurance premiums directly from their paycheck, offering State Teachers’ Retirement System (STRS) workshops and seminars so educators understand what retirement options are available to them, and building Section 125 flexible benefit programs that give educators additional health benefits and dependent care assistance.

Agents are also using partnerships with school administrators to create new opportunities for educators to enhance their knowledge and improve their classrooms. This includes helping fund classroom projects through Horace Mann’s new partnership with DonorsChoose.org, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping teachers find donors to fund special projects.
