What is included in the prize package?
- Round-trip airfare
- Group transportation to and from the airport on the scheduled trip dates
- Two nights of hotel accommodations
- A full-day Disney Institute workshop
- Select meals, including optional group dinners on Sunday and Monday evenings

Will the educator have any additional costs?Personal ground transportation outside of airport transfers (such as Uber, Lyft, or other local travel) is not included. Additional meals are also not included.

What does the workshop consist of?
The workshop, “A Heart for Service in Education,” is led by a Disney facilitator and focuses on service excellence — building meaningful connections, delivering purposeful moments, differentiating experiences and navigating service recovery. It also includes a field experience to see these concepts in action, along with time for reflection on how to apply them.

What will educators learn?
During this hands-on experience, educators will:
- Discover how strong relationships, purpose and collaboration drive meaningful student and community connections
- Learn how to create “purposeful moments” that make everyday interactions more impactful
- Explore real Disney examples of service excellence and how to apply them in education
- Practice strategies for service recovery, communication and building trust
- Participate in a field experience inside a Disney park to see these concepts in action

Where will the workshop take place?
The workshop will be held at Walt Disney World Swan resort.

Can the educator bring their family?This experience is designed specifically for the selected educator, and all scheduled events — including meals, park activities and professional development sessions — are reserved for the recipient. Family members may travel at their own expense; however, they are not permitted to participate in any official Horace Mann-sponsored events. Any additional travel, lodging, tickets and related costs for guests must be arranged and covered personally.

Does the prize package include access to the parks and attractions?The prize package includes round-trip airfare, two nights of hotel accommodations, a full-day Disney Institute workshop and select meals. Park access and attractions are not included.

How is travel coordinated?Horace Mann will coordinate the educator’s travel. We will reach out to confirm the educator’s preferred departure airport, airline and travel times, and Horace Mann will accommodate those requests when possible within company guidelines.

If the educator cannot attend, can the trip be given to someone else?Because the prize is awarded to the selected school, the school’s administration may designate an alternate recipient if the original educator is unable to attend. Any replacement must be another eligible educator from the same school.
